Thiruvananthapuram, April 12 (IANS) A joint military exercise with China would be held in India next month, Defence Minister A.K. Antony said here Saturday. He disclosed this while speaking to reporters after attending a function here.

In reply to a question, he said that even though India will buy arms and conduct joint exercises, there would be no military pact with any country.

“The basic tenets of our foreign and defence policy since the days of (first prime minister) Jawaharlal Nehru are the same. The only change that has taken place is because of changing times,” said Antony.

He also said that the government would help in bringing back the bodies of three Indians who died in Kabul in a bomb blast and assistance would be given to the bereaved families.
