Join work or face arrest, striking oilmen told

New Delhi, Jan 9 (IANS) The government Friday categorically told the striking employees of public sector oil firms to immediately rejoin work or face arrest.”There are only two options: join work immediately or face arrest under ESMA (Essential Supplies Maintenance Act) or NSA (National Security Act),” Petroleum Secretary R.S. Pandey said at a press conference here.

Apart from being arrested, the striking employees would also face disciplinary action, which could include dismissal from service, Pandey added.
