Jobless man kills wife on being asked for money
May 22nd, 2011 - 12:52 am ICT by IANSMohali, May 21 (IANS) An unemployed man in this Punjab district Saturday strangulated his wife to death in a fit of anger when she asked money to run the house, police said.
According to the police, the killed woman was identified as Balwinder Kaur of Manakpur village. She had married Bhupinder Singh around three years ago and the couple have a two-year-old daughter.
“Bhupinder had lost his job a few months back and he had no source of income. Today (Saturday) when his wife asked for money to run the house, he lost his temper and strangulated her. We have sent the body to the civil hospital here for post-mortem examination,” said a police official.
Bhupinder has been arrested and investigations are on, the official added.
