JMM leader shot dead by Maoists
August 14th, 2010 - 1:54 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Aug 14 (IANS) A Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader of Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharsawa district was shot dead by Maoists early Saturday, police said.
According to the police, around 10-15 rebels abducted Dushashan Mahto from his house at Chandil area of Seraikela-Kharsawa district, some 110 km from here, around 1.30 a.m. Saturday. They took him to a nearby jungle and shot him dead.
Mahto’s body was recovered Saturday morning and has been sent for post-mortem examination.
He was woken up Friday night and abducted by the rebels at gun point.
The rebels left a pamphlet claiming he was a police informer.
