Jharkhand villagers kill 12 dacoits

Ranchi, March 19 (IANS) Villagers lynched four dacoits and burnt eight to death in Jharkhand’s Pakur district, police said Thursday.
“The dacoits raided Sundarpur village Wednesday night. When they were retreating after looting many houses, the villagers caught 12 of them. Four were beaten to death and eight were burnt alive,” Superintendent of Police Mohammad Nehal told IANS.

Police reached the village, about 500 km from here, Thursday morning and took the bodies in their possession. The corpses have been sent for postmortem.

Police have also registered a first information report (FIR) against unknown people for the murder of the dacoits.
