Ranchi, March 2 (IANS) Jharkhand Monday sanctioned a Rs.1.15-billion (Rs.115 crore) investment for expansion of the Birsa Munda airport here, said an official.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the advisory committee of the Jharkhand governor, said P.K. Jajoria, secretary of the state secretariat coordination committee.
“In all, 312 acres of land will be acquired for the expansion of the airport. The meeting also decided to request the civil aviation ministry to start air services to Jamshedpur, Deoghar, Bokaro and Dhanbad districts,” Jajoria told reporters here.
The meeting also approved transferring 214 acres for setting up the Ranchi chapter of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
