Jharkhand deputy chief minister gets bail

Ranchi, May 20 (IANS) Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren was released on bail Friday after he surrendered before a Dumka court in a case related to violation of model code of conduct.
Soren surrendered to the court of Judicial Magistrate D.K. Mishra. The case is related to violation of model code of conduct in the 2009 assembly polls. Soren was elected to the state assembly from Dumka.
Hemant Soren, son of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Shibu Soren, became deputy chief minister in September last year when the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Arjun Munda formed the government.
