Jharkhand Citizen’s Charter from Nov 15: Munda

Bharatiya Janata Party Ranchi, Oct 12 (IANS) Extending support to Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani’s Jan Chetna Yatra, Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda said Wednesday the Citizen’s Charter and the Right to Service Act would be implemented from November 15, the state’s foundation day.

“The Citizen’s Charter and the Right to Service Act will be implemented from November 15. We are planning to bring an anti-corruption bill in the winter session of the assembly. The provisions will include to seizing properties of tainted officials,” Munda said while addressing a public meeting in support of Advani’s country-wide campaign.

“After the Right to Service Act is implemented every task would have to be completed in a stipulated period. If any official is found delaying a task, his salary will be deducted,” Munda added.

Munda, BJP president Dineshnanad Goswami and other party leaders took an oath on the national flag to make Jharkhand a corruption-free state.

Scores of scams have brought Jharkhand, counted as one of the country’s most corrupt states, a bad name. Former Chief Minister Madhu Koda and four former ministers are in jail in graft cases. Koda is also at the center of a Rs.4,000 crore money laundering scam.
