Jeweller found murdered
February 9th, 2012 - 1:39 pm ICT by IANSHyderabad, Feb 9 (IANS) A noted jewellery merchant from Visakhapatnam, reported missing in Bengaluru two days ago, was Thursday found murdered in Karnataka’s Hassan district, an official said.
According to police, the body of 47-year-old Grandhi Manoj Kumar was recovered from Sakleshwarpur forest area of Hassan district of Karnataka Thursday morning.
Manoj Kumar, owner of Vaibhav Jewellers, went missing Tuesday, a day after he landed in Bengaluru from Jaipur. Reportedly carrying jewels worth Rs.3 crore, Kumar had left for Bengaluru airport to board a flight to Mumbai when he went missing.
Two people and a cab driver have been arrested for kidnapping and murdering the jeweller, police said.
The killing of the jeweller has sent shock waves in Visakhapatnam and traders have called for a shutdown Friday.
