Castellon (Spain), Oct 26 (IANS) A late bogey on the 16th hole robbed Jeev Milkha Singh a chance of a top-10 finish at the Castello Masters, the last full field event on the European Tour this season.Jeev with a four-under 32 on the front nine, managed only an even 35 with three birdies and three bogeys on the back nine for a four-under 67 that gave him a share of the 13th place.
Sergio Garcia won the title after a round of four-under par 67 in the final round. It gave him a three-shot win over Peter Hedblom at Club de Campo del Mediterráneo Sunday.
India’s Shiv Kapur, who made the cut on the bubble shot a final round of one-under 70 and ended one-under 283 in tied 63rd place.
Jeev opened the day with a birdie on first and then added three in a row from sixth to eighth and turned in four-under, raising visions of a good top-10 finish. On the back nine, he had a topsy-turvy stretch with a birdie on 10th, bogey on 11th followed by bogey on 13th. Two back to back birdies on 14th and 15th saw him come inside top-10, but a bogey on 16th saw him fall out again. He ended in 13th finally.
