Jailed murder accused ‘untraceable’
February 20th, 2012 - 10:12 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS) Raising fears of a jail break, a murder accused sent to judicial custody could not be presented in a Delhi court by jail officials who claimed that he could not be traced in any of the city prisons.
“It has been reported by jail authorities that accused Kishan Pal, against whom the production warrant was issued, is not traceable in both the jails Central Jail Tihar and District Jail Rohini, Delhi,” Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Rakesh Tewari observed after the jail authorities told the court Saturday that the accused was not traceable.
The court in Rohini court complex was told recently that Kishan Pal was in judicial custody. But on Saturday, the jail authorities submitted that he was not traceable in any of the jails in Delhi.
The jail authorities earlier told the court that the accused was lodged in jail and was also presented in a seperate case in a court the the Tis Hazari court complex recently from Tihar jail.
Kishan Pal’s co-accused in the murder case, Hitender Rawat, was presented in the Rohini court Saturday.
Judge Tewari after hearing the submission of jail authorities issued a fresh production warrant against Kishan Pal for Feb 24.
Kishan Pal along with Vikas Yadav, Hari Jagdish and Rawat was being tried for murder in the Rohini court. Yadav, the prime accused of the case, and Jagdish are on bail.
Rawat is Kishan Pal’s co-accused in the case being hear in the Tis Hazari court.
