Chennai, Jan 26 (IANS) Rookie all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja said he is excited at the prospect of sharing the dressing room with senior players.Jadeja said he was thrilled to be part of the team and is looking forward to the tour.

“It is really a good experience. It is a pleasure sharing the dressing room with the seniors. I can learn a lot from them,” he said Sunday before the team left for Colombo Monday for an One-day International series.

India are slated to play five ODIs in Sri Lanka followed by a Twenty-20 game. The first ODI will be played Wednesday at Dambulla.

Jadeja, who bowls left-arm spin, was included in the team following an injury to off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Jadeja said the team will not be weighed down by Harbhajan’s absence but rather would strive to give their best.

“We are playing together as a team. All of us are geared up to give our best,” said Jadeja during a hurriedly organised interaction at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here. The team was practicing here for the trip.

The team management, in a departure from convention, opted to send Jadeja to meet the media instead of the usual practice of the captain or the coach.
