Israeli diplomat attack: Indian arrested

New Delhi, March 7 (IANS) An Indian national claiming to be a freelance journalist has been arrested in connection with the attack on an Israeli diplomat here last month, police said Wednesday.

“Mohammed Kazmi, in his early 50s, was arrested Tuesday night from south Delhi. He is claiming to be a freelance journalist,” a police official said.

“We have almost cracked the case,” the official added.

On Feb 13, four people were injured when an Israeli diplomat’s car was hit by a bomb near the Israeli embassy in the capital.

Tal Yehoshua Koren, wife of the Israeli defence attache, suffered multiple injuries when a motorcycle rider attached a magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within seconds, the device exploded with a thunderous sound, setting the car on fire.
