Iran to conduct cyber-security manoeuvre
August 22nd, 2011 - 12:43 pm ICT by IANSTehran, Aug 22 (IANS) Iran plans to conduct a “cyber security manoeuvre” to increase readiness against possible cyber attacks on the country, state-run Press TV reported.
The announcement was made by chief of the Passive Defence Organisation, Brigadier General Gholam-Reza Jalali.
Jalali said the manoeuvre was meant to assess the readiness of Iranian organisations and departments to prevent future cyber intrusions.
He, however, did not elaborate on the details of the manoeuvre.
Iran detected and thwarted a virus aimed at infecting the country’s nuclear plant system, Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said earlier.
The government said the computer worm - Stuxnet - infected 30,000 IP addresses in the country, including personal computers of the staff at the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
