Iran to build new fighter jets
October 31st, 2011 - 9:19 am ICT by IANSTehran, Oct 31 (IANS) Iranian Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi has said that the country plans to build new fighter jets.
He added that the Iranian defence industry is making good progress despite US economic sanctions.
He also announced the delivery of a new submarine to the navy in August to conduct missions in the Persian Gulf.
“This submarine is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and advanced weapons, high maneuver capabilities and suitable underwater operation capabilities,” the official IRNA news agency Monday quoted him as saying.
