Iran proposes consortium for building nuclear plants

Tehran, Nov 30 (IANS) Iran Sunday proposed the establishment of a consortium of regional states to build nuclear power plants, the official IRNA news agency reported.The proposal was made by the chief of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation (AEO) Reza Aqazadeh in his address to the opening session of an international seminar here.

Aqazadeh said that the proposed consortium will construct and develop light water nuclear power plants in the region.

“Iran is ready to provide a comprehensive plan if the proposal is approved by the Persian Gulf littoral states,” the AEO chief said.
