Iran does not need assassinations: Ahmadinejad
October 16th, 2011 - 7:42 pm ICT by IANSTehran, Oct 16 (IANS) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday that Iran does not need to resort to assassinations to advance its policies, Xinhua reported citing satellite Press TV.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks referring to the recent US allegations that two men, Manssor Arbabsayar, a 56-year-old US citizen holding both the Iranian and US passports, and Gholam Shakuri, an Iranian citizen, were charged with sponsoring and promoting terrorist activities abroad, including a plot to kill Saudi Ambassador to Washington Adel Al-Jubeir.
Ahmadinejad said that the US accusation is aimed at preventing Iran from progressing.
The objective of all these pressures is to prevent Iran from progressing and becoming intellectually and culturally powerful, Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.
