Intruder killed on India-Pakistan border
January 26th, 2012 - 1:20 pm ICT by IANSJammu, Jan 26 (IANS) The Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead an intruder from Pakistan who entered Indian territory in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday morning, a BSF official said.
The intruder was seen crossing the zero line into Indian territory near Mala Bala border post in Akhnoor sector, about 45 km west of Jammu.
“He was challenged, but he did not stop. BSF soldiers then shot him dead,” said the official.
The body of the intruder was still lying near the zero line as “BSF is trying to hold a flag meeting with its Pakistani counterpart to register a complaint and hand over the body to them”.
The officials said the identity of the intruder is not known. “We cannot say as of now if he was a militant or their associate.”
