Intermediate biology, maths exams cancelled in Moradabad

Rampur (Uttar Pradesh), March 20 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education Friday cancelled its intermediate examination for biology and mathematics papers at all centres in the Moradabad division of the state.
This follows the leakage of question papers in the two subjects in Rampur on Thursday and Friday. The affected examination centres under Moradabad division include Bijnore, Jyotiba Phoole Nagar, Moradabad and Rampur.

Confirming the leakage, Divisional Commissioner R.S. Dubey Friday said: “Magisterial inquiry has been ordered and the culprits found involved in the scandal will be given exemplary punishment.”

Meanwhile, five people, including the owner of a photostat machine, have been arrested and seven others detained for questioning.

Official reports reveal that nightlong searches by teams headed by city magistrate Rajesh Kumar Rai were conducted at various places, including coaching centres.

District Magistrate L.S. Pandey has put District Inspector of Schools Kamlesh Kumar under surveillance for his alleged connection with those who leaked the question papers.
