Inspector found dead in Delhi police station (Lead)

New Delhi, March 6 (IANS) A station house officer (SHO) was found dead Friday in the rest room of a Delhi police station, the police said.
Ram Chand Ranga, who would have turned 59 Friday, was posted at the Gulabi Bagh police station. He was found unconscious in the rest room of the police station.

“He was bleeding from the nose. Ranga was then rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead,” a police officer said.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Northern Range) Karnal Singh said Ranga died of cardiac arrest around 3 a.m. Friday.

Ranga, whose retirement was due in March next year, was suffering from diabetes and hypertension.

Ranga had joined Delhi Police as head constable and rose through the ranks and became inspector in 1994.
