Injured cop dies in Srinagar hospital
May 15th, 2010 - 3:03 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, May 15 (IANS) A policeman who was injured in Friday’s grenade explosion by separatists in this Jammu and Kashmir summer capital succumbed to his injuries in a hospital Saturday, an official said.
Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers, a local policeman and a civilian were wounded in the Saraf Kadal area of the old city when separatist guerrillas hurled a grenade at the security forces.
“Constable Bilal Ahmad, belonging to south Kashmir’s Tral town, who had been critically injured in yesterday’s (Friday’s) grenade explosion, succumbed to his injuries today (Saturday) in the Soura Medical Institute,” a senior police officer said.
