Bangalore, March 23 (IANS) Amit Budhiraj, a 30-year-old software engineer from Delhi working for IT major Infosys Technologies, killed his 28-year-old chartered accountant wife Rinku in their home in Bangalore and then hanged himself late Saturday night, the police said Sunday. Budhiraj left behind a suicide note, saying he was upset over his wife’s extra-marital relations, the police said.
Rinku, from Mumbai, was working in a private bank, the police said. The two were married about a year back.
Rinku was to go to a movie with a friend Sunday morning but when there was no response to repeated phone calls, the house owner, who stays on the ground floor, was alerted and the police were informed.
The police entered the first-floor house in upscale Koramangala area with the help of a duplicate key the house owner had and found the two bodies and the suicide note.
The bodies were taken to a nearby hospital and would be handed over to the parents or relatives, the police said.
The police said they were talking to the house owner, neighbours and colleagues and friends of the couple to find out whether there was any other motive for the crime other than what Budhiraj stated in his suicide note.
