Infiltrator killed in Jammu and Kashmir
January 17th, 2010 - 10:46 am ICT by IANSJammu, Jan 17 (IANS) Border Security Force (BSF) troopers Sunday killed an infiltrator who was trying to sneak into the Indian territory in Ranbirsinghpora sector from the Line of Control (LoC) that divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
“The BSF patrolling party spotted intruders around 3 a.m. and challenged them. When they started running, the BSF men opened fire. One intruder was killed on the spot while the other managed to escape,” a BSF official said.
The infiltrators were trying to sneak into the Indian territory from across the international border at Chawali post area in Ranbirsinghpora sector, about 35 kms west of Jammu.
