Industrialist kidnapped, Rs.1 crore ransom demanded (Lead)
February 25th, 2011 - 8:14 pm ICT by IANSNoida, Feb 25 (IANS) A leading industrialist was kidnapped from Noida, on the outskirts of Delhi, and the abductors want Rs.1 crore for his release, police said Friday.The kidnapping of Saurabh Jain, promoter of two companies in Greater Noida and one company in Noida engaged in manufacturing electrical appliances and garments, came to light when the ransom call was tracked by police. The kidnappers used Jain’s mobile phone to make the ransom call, which was tapped by police.
Jain’s car (UP-16 H 5461) was recovered from the Civil Lines area of Ghaziabad.
Police are now working to track the kidnappers on the basis of surveillance of Jain’s mobile phone.
“We are working to solve the case within our limitations. The family is not supportive to the police team which makes it difficult for us,” Noida Superintendent of Police Anant Dev said.
