Indian Army’s woman officer arrested for a day
December 23rd, 2009 - 9:26 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 23 (IANS) A woman officer of the Indian Army was arrested for a day, said an official Wednesday.
The officer was appearing as a witness in an army court in the army’s eastern command.
“The woman officer entered into verbal altercation with the court , leaving it with no choice but to put her under arrest,” said an army official.
The officer was later released following the instructions of the general-officer in commanding of Eastern Command. This is the first incident of a woman army officer being put under arrest. The officer was not identified.
