The infantry officer, whose name has been withheld by the army headquarters, is facing a court of inquiry in this regard, the sources said.
The officer was in Bangladesh this summer to attend a course at one of their military academies when he was trapped by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies.
He reportedly developed an intimate relationship with a woman, who was acting at the behest of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, the sources added.
