India lauds Norway’s role in conflict resolution
March 2nd, 2010 - 8:58 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 2 (IANS) Lauding Norway’s role in conflict resolution, Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju Tuesday said the two countries have been cooperating with the global community on vital issues like anti-piracy, conflict resolution, UN peacekeeping, disaster relief and climate change.
“Its efforts like our own have not been always successful but that does not detract from Norway’s abiding interest and commitment for a peaceful world,” Raju said while inaugurating a seminar here.
He said India could gain from Norway’s efforts in climate research and work together in global forums to promote equitable policy interventions “As India’s economy grows in an interdependent and globalizing world, the nations of the world will have stakes in our stability and security.”
Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store was also present at the seminar.
