India Japan on global partnership

- India and Japan needs to enhanced cooperation in the Economic, Defence and Security fields.Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh met his Japanese counterpart Yukio Hatoyama on the sidelines of ASEAN meet in Thailand and called for finalisation of major economic initiatives with Japan including an early Conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.Both reiterated their committment to furthering the bilateral strategic and global partnership.
Two Leaders too exchanged views on issues like climate change and forthcoming Nuclear Security Summit, besides other regional and global matters.
The two Prime Ministers had a good discussion on the future of the East Asia Summit process with Mr Hatoyama saying India is an important country in this process and both the sides should collaborate to develope the concepts of regional economic architecture.
