India denounces North Korea’s nuclear test

New Delhi, May 25 (IANS) India Monday described the nuclear test by North Korea as a matter of serious concern for the entire world.
“It is a development of serious concern… India is against nuclear proliferation,” A.K. Antony said just after resuming office as defence minister.

“The development is of concern for not only India but to the world,” he added.

North Korea sent shock waves around the world by conducting second nuclear explosion defying world opinion.

On Monday, it announced that it had “successfully” conducted a nuclear test.

“According to the demand of our scientists and technicians, our republic has successfully conducted another underground nuclear test on May 25… as part of measures to strengthen its nuclear power in self-defence,” the state-run Korean Central News Agency said.
