IGNOU to host pan commonwealth forum on open learning
October 30th, 2010 - 6:31 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been chosen to host the sixth Pan Commonwealth Forum on Open Learning (PCF6), an official said Saturday.
Scheduled to be held in Kerala Nov 24-28, the theme of PCF6 is ‘Access and Success in Learning: Global Development Perspectives’.
“The biennial forum will, for the first time, be jointly organized by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Canada and IGNOU. PCF6 has grown to become a leading international conference on learning and development,” said a university official.
The forum brings together practitioners, researchers, planners and policy makers in the fields of open and distance learning and development from over 70 countries.
About 800 participants representing agencies active in open learning, including funding bodies and technology providers, will attend the conference.
IGNOU is one of the world’s largest open universities which provides education to 1.5 million students.
