New Delhi, April 20 (IANS) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Wednesday said it plans to bring out a book carrying texts of lectures delivered as part of its year-long silver jubilee celebrations which ended November 2010, an official said.

The ‘IGNOU Silver Jubilee Lectures’ were organised between December 2009 and November last year, he said.

The book “Bridging the Gap: Essays on Inclusive Development and Education” has been edited by Latha Pillai, pro-vice chancellor, and Babu P. “The volume will be published and distributed worldwide through Sage publications. The essays in the volume are organised around two broader themes - ‘Inclusion of the excluded’ and ‘Education for the marginalised’,” said V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, vice chancellor, IGNOU.

The contributors to the volume include activist Kiran Bedi, veteran journalist P. Sainath, danseuse Mallika Sarabhai and actor Nandita Das, said Pillai.
