IAS couple, engineers’ homes raided by Lokayukt
December 10th, 2010 - 2:23 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Dec 10 (IANS) The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukt Friday conducted raids at the residences of a bureaucrat couple and two engineers for alleged corruption.
The raids were carried out at the homes of Arvind Joshi and his wife Tinu Joshi - both Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers - and engineers Deepak Asai and Ram Das Chaudhary.
All four have been suspended. Their premises were raided by the Income Tax department in February. The IT department had recovered Rs.3 crore in cash from the IAS couple. While Arvind was principal secretary in the water resources department, Tinu was principal secretary in the women and child development department.
Deepak Asai and Ram Das Chaudhary were chief engineer and executive engineer respectively in the Madhya Pradesh public works department.
Their cases are pending with the Lokayukt.
