I support Anna Hazare’s cause: Ritu Kumar
April 8th, 2011 - 12:04 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 7 (IANS) Ritu Kumar, one of India’s renowned designers, says she extends full support to the cause of strict anti-corruption laws, for which social activist Anna Hazare is on an indefinite hunger strike in the capital.
“I extend all my support to the cause for which Anna Hazare is on a hunger strike, but not so much for the way it is being done. However, corruption is the biggest problem in our country, and strict actions need to be taken to curb it. It is definitely a big cause, and I support it,” the veteran designer told reporters after her son Amrish Kumar’s show at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) here Thursday.
Hazare, 72, had his last meal on April 4, and has been surviving on water since then. He is fasting at Jantar Mantar in the heart of the capital.
