I-Day: 930 personnel to be awarded police medals
August 14th, 2011 - 10:28 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 14 (IANS) A total of 930 personnel from various security agencies and the para-military forces will be awarded police medals on the occasion of the Independence Day, a statement said Sunday.
President’s police medals for gallantry will be awarded to seven personnel, police medals for gallantry to 95 personnel, president’s police medals for distinguished service to 93 personnel and police medals for meritorious service will be awarded to 735 personnel.
“Sixteen personnel will be awarded correctional service medals and President’s correctional service medal for gallantry to one personnel,” said the home ministry statement.
Correctional service medal for gallantry will be awarded to one, President’s correctional service medals for distinguished service to two and correctional service medals for meritorious service to 12 personnel. These are to be awarded annually to jail officers and staffers.
