‘I am Kalam’ set for June release: Director
April 22nd, 2011 - 8:34 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, April 22 (IANS) “I Am Kalam”, an award-winning feature film about the struggle of a boy who is inspired by A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, is set to hit the screens globally by June-end, its director, Nila Madhaba Panda, said.
The one-and-a-half-hour film, produced by Smile Foundation, aims at motivating the poor to educate their children.
“The film is set to release in June-end worldwide,” Panda who is a native of Orissa’s Subarnapur district told IANS from New Delhi over the phone.
“I Am Kalam” has been screened at film festivals worldwide and has won 11 international awards, including the top one at the Indian Film Festival in Los Angeles (IFFLA).
“The film was screened at 25 international festivals,” Panda said.
