The incident happened early Wednesday morning in Jagatpuri area of East Delhi.
Firasat Hussain, 40, killed his wife Shaheen, 36, in the kitchen early at 3 a.m. over a domestic issue, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Prabhakar.
“He sat in front of the dead body of his wife and then in the morning called the police and intimated about the murder but he did not inform that he killed his wife,” he said.
A police team, which arrived on the spot, found that Hussain too was injured.
“He was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and during interrogation he confessed to the crime. After treatment, he was arrested,” said Prabhakar.
Police registered a case and sent Shaheen’s body for post-mortem.
Further investigations are on, Prabhakar said.
