Humid day in Delhi, rains expected Wednesday (Lead)

New Delhi, July 19 (IANS) It was a hot and humid day for Delhiites Tuesday, with the maximum temperature settling at 36.3 degrees Celsius, a notch above average. The Met office said showers are likely Wednesday.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 27.5 degrees, average for this time of the year.

Humidity levels varied between a high of 91 and a low of 57 percent, an Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The weather office forecast showers for Wednesday.

“Partly cloudy sky, accompanied with rains and thundershowers, is likely Wednesday,” the official said.

The minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively, the official added.
