Hot morning in Delhi, showers likely

New Delhi, May 12 (IANS) Delhiites woke up to a particularly hot morning Thursday as the minimum touched 29.6 degrees Celsius — five notches above average. However, relief could be at hand with the Met office predicting light rainfall towards the evening.

“It is likely to become partly cloudy by the evening. Light showers or dust storms are expected,” said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 41 degrees. Humidity recorded was 45 percent.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was 42.4 degrees — three notches above average for this time of the season.
