Hot Monday in Delhi, no respite Tuesday (Lead)

New Delhi, Oct 3 (IANS) The week began on hot note for Delhiites Monday with above average temperatures and the sun beating down on the city through the day. The met office has forecast no relief Tuesday.

“The maximum temperature was recorded a notch above average at 34.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was two notches above average at 23.7 degrees Celsius,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity levels oscillated between a high of 82 and a low of 43 percent.

According to the IMD, skies will remain clear Tuesday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 35 and 24 degrees Celsius.

Sunday’s maximum temperature was a notch above average at 34.8 degrees while the minimum was 23 degress, average for this time of the season.
