Hot day in Delhi, rain expected Friday (Second Lead)
April 28th, 2011 - 8:24 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 28 (IANS) Delhiites sweltered on a hot Thursday as the maximum temperature touched 39.4 degrees, a notch above average. Although there is the possibility of thundershowers Friday, the mercury will remain high, the met office said.
“There is likelihood of showers in some parts of the city tomorrow (Friday) but the temperatures will remain on the higher side. The maximum and minimum are expected to hover around 40 and 24 degrees Celsius,” an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
“The skies will be partly cloudy tomorrow,” added the official.
Thursday’s minimum temperature was 24.9 degrees, a notch above average. Humidity levels wavered between a high of 65 percent and a low of 24 percent.
