Hot day in Delhi, hotter Tuesday expected (Lead)

New Delhi, April 25 (IANS) With the maximum temperature touching 40 degrees Celsius Monday, Delhiites got a taste of the scorching summer in store. The met office has forecast Tuesday to be hotter.

“The maximum temperature was three notches above average and the minimum was 22.9 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the year,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity levels wavered between a high of 69 percent and a low of 16 percent, added the official.

According to the IMD, Tuesday will be a hot day with clear skies and bright sunshine.

“The temperatures tomorrow (Tuesday) will hover around a maximum of 41 and minimum of 24 degrees Celsius,” added the official.
