Hoax bomb call at Kolkata airport

Kolkata, March 19 (IANS) A hoax bomb call at the international airport’s cargo department here created panic Thursday, officials said.
“An anonymous call came at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport around 4.45 p.m. Thursday saying there is a bomb hidden inside the cargo department,” airport director V.K. Monga said.

“About 350 employees were immediately taken out of the international cargo department. Bomb disposal squad personnel, the police along with sniffer dogs, rushed in and thoroughly searched the area.

“But nothing suspicious was found. The employees are back to work,” Monga said.

The airport director said the police are trying to trace the caller.
