Hizb terrorist killed in Jammu and Kashmir
October 10th, 2009 - 4:23 pm ICT by IANSJammu, Oct 10 (IANS) A Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander was killed in a gun battle with security forces in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir Saturday, police said.
Junaid alias Liaqat Ali was shot dead in Kastigarh area of Doda, about 200 km north-east of Jammu.
“The militant had taken refuge in a house. When he was asked to surrender, he opened fire and was killed in retaliatory fire,” Doda Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Singh told IANS.
“Junaid was backbone of the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen group in Doda and was wanted in several incidents of bomb explosions and shootouts,” he said.
