Himachal’s special athletes to attend Athens meet

Shimla, June 6 (IANS) Five special children from Himachal Pradesh will participate in an athletics meet to be held in Athens later this month, an official said here Monday.
Pawan Kumar, Sushil Kumar, Prabha, Aman and Ranjana have been selected to participate in the World Summer Games-2011 in Athens from June 25 to July 4, chairperson of Special Olympic of Himachal Pradesh branch Mallika Nadda told IANS.
She said Governor Urmila Singh gave them a warm send off from Shimla Monday.
Earlier, athletes from the state have brought laurels to the country by winning medals at the World Games-2003 in Ireland, the World Summer Games-2007 in China and the World Winter Games-2009 held in the US.
