Himachal IAS officer booked for corruption
July 9th, 2009 - 10:43 pm ICT by IANSShimla, July 9 (IANS) A senior IAS officer was booked Thursday in Himachal Pradesh for corruption, police said.
“The state Vigilance Bureau this (Thursday) afternoon booked General Industries Corporation managing director Sanjay Gupta for possessing ill-gotten money worth Rs.200,000,” Inspector General (Vigilance) S.R. Mardi said.
Gupta was taken in police custody along with his employee at Parwanoo town, he said, adding that Gupta has been charged with relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Parwanoo is located near industrial town Baddi in Solan district, about 65 km from Shimla.
