Himachal building collapse: Owner booked
July 11th, 2011 - 12:57 pm ICT by IANSShimla, July 11 (IANS) The owner and builder of an under-construction building that collapsed in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district were booked Monday, police said.
A labourer was killed and 12 others were injured when a three-storeyed commercial building collapsed Sunday night following heavy rains, police said. The labourers were sleeping at the time of the accident.
Search operations were going on at the site. “The search began in the morning and there is minimal possibility of any one still trapped in the debris,” Superintendent of Police Hardev Bisht told IANS.
Three of the injured have been admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital in Chandigarh, some 35 km from the spot. Rest of them have been admitted to ESI Hospital in Parwanoo.
Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing heavy rains since Friday.
