Amritsar, May 14 (IANS) The special narcotics cell of the Punjab Police Wednesday arrested two smugglers and recovered from their possession 10 kg of heroin worth Rs.100 million. Both smugglers, Puran Singh and Mohinder Singh, were nabbed near the bus-stand here following a tip-off. “They were standing there to deliver the consignment to someone,” said narcotics cell chief Tulsi Ram.
He said the duo had links with drug smugglers based in Pakistan.
The consignment had arrived in India from Afghanistan via Pakistan recently, the official said.
