Raipur, June 22 (IANS) A government school headmaster committed suicide in his official chamber in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district, police said Monday.
Banshidhar Sahu, 50, visited the school Sunday, opened his office chamber and ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in Koliyari village of Dhamtari, 80 km from state capital Raipur.
“Sahu reached the school Sunday and in his office chamber he climbed on a table and committed suicide by hanging from the fan,” in-charge of Arjuni police station J.P. Singh told IANS.
Singh said Sahu had been battling with minor health problems for a long time and poor health could be one reason for the extreme step.
