- Jind (Haryana), Oct 28 (IANS) A woman has been booked on charges of killing her 19-year-old daughter in a village in Haryana’s Jind district, police said Wednesday.
The father of the girl had lodged a complaint against his wife that she had hammered the girl to death in a fit of rage Monday night in Bibipur village.
Manisha was studying in BA first year and her mother suspected that she had an affair with some boy. In a fit of anger, she hit Manisha with a wooden hammer, leading to a serious head injury, police said.
“The post-mortem examination could not establish the exact cause of death and we have sent the viscera to a forensic lab for further examination. Our investigation is on,” Jind district police chief Satheesh Baalan said.
Bibipur village is some 215 km from Chandigarh.
