Haryana school kids to get free uniforms
April 15th, 2012 - 10:51 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, April 15 (IANS) All students from Class 1-8 in government schools in Haryana will now get free uniforms, a minister said Sunday.
“Apart from free text-books, all students from Class 1-8 in government schools all over Haryana will be provided free uniforms from the new academic session,” Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal announced in Jhajjar town, 350 km from here.
She said that, presently, free uniforms were given only to students from the Scheduled Castes and from below poverty line families.
Bhukkal said that the new transport policy of the state had been framed to ensure safe transportation of school children.
